Sugal Group is one of the world's leading producers of tomato concentrates and other fruit and vegetable derivatives. Originating in Portugal, this agribusiness group has expanded its presence internationally, having operations and partnerships in several countries, including those within the European Union, North and South America, and Africa.

Founded in the mid-20th century, the Sugal Group has evolved from a family business to a global entity while maintaining the values of sustainability, quality and innovation. Their product range extends from tomato paste to various other processed food products for both retail and industrial markets.

Sustainability is a central pillar of Sugal Group's corporate philosophy. They are committed to reducing the environmental impact of their operations through practices such as recycling water, using resources efficiently, and supporting local communities.

It was with this in mind that Sugal Group formed a partnership with the Coral team, whose Engineering division installed three coal-fired boiler flue gas extraction systems at the company's Chilean headquarters. These systems ensure the extraction and filtration of high concentrations of pollutants.

Harmful particles are trapped through the AIRCOM bag filters, ensuring a total treated air flow rate of 185,500 m3/h.

  • Air Flow Rate: 52,500 cu m/h; 66,500 cu m/h; 66,500 cu m/h.
  • Filter Type:
  • Aircom 360-5.0 sleeve filter with 5.0 m. PTFE sleeve stilling chamber;
  • Aircom 432-5.0 sleeve filter with 5.0 m. PTFE sleeve stilling chamber;
  • Aircom 432-5.0 sleeve filter with 5.0 m. PTFE sleeve stilling chamber.
  • Fan: PRU1120/T 75 Kw in SS316 - PRU1250/T 75 Kw in SS316.

The filter bags, with a length of 5 m each, are made of 100% PTFE fabric for durability. Dusty air enters the hopper below the filter bags, and due to the abrupt decrease in velocity, particles with larger particle size decant and precipitate into the collection container. The air flow is then conveyed to the filter bags to settle the impurities and come out completely purified. The filters are kept efficient over time by a cyclic countercurrent cleaning system. Efficiency is further enhanced by the AISI 316 media, which provides greater strength.

A high-efficiency centrifugal electric fan ensures the necessary vacuum by conveying filtered air to the outside through an exhaust pipe. The system is designed in accordance with regulations, also providing the ability to analyze emissions.

Investing in advanced extraction and filtration systems not only improves air quality in the industrial environment, but also demonstrates a commitment to environmental sustainability.
