Abatement of carbon dust
- Plant type: Carbon dust filtration
- Air flow rate: 21,000 cu m/h
- Filter type: Aircompact ATEX cartridge filter
- Fan: PRM 630/4 - 30 kW
General description
The following equipment was constructed for the extraction and abatement of carbon dust that develops during processing.
Remediation of the working environment and air exchange are achieved by creating a uniform air flow from the top to the bottom, through suction carried out in the frontal area by means of a 2 m x 6 m frontal part with a depth of 500 mm.
The suction wall will be divided in two with two 2 m x 3 m suction sections. The system is equipped with two electropneumatic dampers to exclude one wall or the other. With the use of a preset inverter at two different stages 30 Hz and 50 Hz, the flow rate can be automatically adjusted according to the number of walls in operation. Filtration of the sucked-in flow is achieved with an AIRCOMPACT cartridge filter, appropriately sized according to the sucked-in air flow rate and complying with the ATEX standard.
A centrifugal electrospirator is installed externally, which creates the vacuum and consequent velocity of uptake flush with the wall, ensures suction, and releases the purified air into the atmosphere via an exhaust stack.
