Dust extraction system for bagging operations
- Plant type: Pellet dust extraction
- Air flow rate: 50,000 cu m/h
- Filter type: Cartridge filter mod. Aircompact ATEX
- Fan: PR 1000/4 - 75 kW
How the plant works
Coral has built the following equipment for the extraction and filtration of dust generated by pellet bagging activities.
To prevent the dispersion of dust into the environment, 10 suction points have been provided, distributed over 3 material loading hoppers. Suction downflows of appropriate diameter are positioned to the rear of the area affected by the discharge, in order to take the pollutant directly to its source of production. A main manifold conveys the pollutant to a cartridge filter model AIRCOMPACT ATEX, which is suitable for explosion-hazardous dust extraction systems.
In fact, the filter is equipped with special rupture panels. Thanks to this protection, in the event that a detonation occurs, explosion-prone parts are placed in a condition where they can vent their devastating force to a previously organized area. In addition, a FLAP isolation valve provides an extra layer of safety to prevent the propagation of an explosion through the plant's ducts. No less important, the filter is also equipped with an automatic compressed air cleaning system that ensures the effective operation of the filter continuously.
Finally, the installed dust extraction system includes a high-performance centrifugal electric fan, also in ATEX version. At the end of the filtration process, its function is to channel the flow of clean air into an exhaust stack to the atmosphere.
