Neptune – Water filter for solid particles

The Neptune system begins by drawing in air contaminated with solid particulates. The airflow enters the filter assembly and reaches the first treatment stage, where a series of tangential vacuum-cone nozzles atomize water directly into the contaminated air. In this washing zone, the water captures and weighs down the particles, initiating the abatement process.

The air-water mixture is then fed into the water cyclone. Inside the cyclone, the swirling motion and centrifugal force separate the heavier particles: the material loses energy, is pushed toward the walls, and settles to the bottom of the unit.

In the Neptune STD version, the broken-down residues fall and accumulate in the collection tank. In the Neptune DR version, however, the deposited material is collected and removed by a scraper, a solution recommended when a more continuous removal of the sludge produced by the filtration process is desired. The system can be supplemented with a sludge collection tank.

After passing through the cyclone, the air flows into the stilling chamber, where the flow velocity decreases and turbulence is reduced. The droplet separator intercepts the entrained moisture, preventing it from reaching the next filtration stage. The purification process is completed as the air passes through rigid pocket filters, which trap any remaining fine particles before the purified air is expelled via an electric fan.
