How the plant works
Coral built the following dust extraction and odor abatement system from methacrylate plexiglass cutting operations, taking advantage of activated carbon filtration technology.
The project involved the installation of the Kubo activated carbon filter, a type of disposable adsorber filter ideal for suction and deodorization systems for high concentrations of VOCs. The polluted air passes through a first stage of dust suppression and then, forced by the vacuum of the fan, passes through a double bed of activated carbon, sized according to current regulations, to be filtered and expelled to the outside through a chimney.
The realized suction and deodorization system certainly owes its efficiency to the excellent adsorptive capacity of activated carbon. The extreme porosity and high specific surface area of the material allow both the filtration of volatile particles and the abatement of odors generated by the operation. In addition, the size and rhomboidal shape of the filter used ensure significant durability of the expected activated carbon charge, further enhancing the efficiency of the system.
